Companies hire taste-testers for all different kinds of products. But what if the product required you to have sex in order to give feedback? Though it won’t pay you, nonprofit group DKT International is hosting its fourth condom tester contest in Brazil.
To get involved, participants have been buying the DKT’s low-priced Prudence brand condoms, then sharing their experiences on the DKT website. The 100 best stories shared will win free condoms for a year. As of now, over 3,000 stories have been submitted from Brazil and other countries, and DKT has sold over one billion condoms in Brazil.
By marketing in a unique way, as well as providing low-cost condoms in low-income countries, DKT is hoping to end cultural stigmas about using contraception. “Contraception is more controversial than sex,” says Phil Harvey, founder and president of DKT International.
