Back in May of this year, thanks to science and magic and the nosy ghost of Gunther Gebel-Williams, three females were born to mama liger Zita and daddy lion Sam, including li’l liliger Eva. The 23rd Annual Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade took place on Saturday, and these dogs (well, their enthusiastic owners) were not messing around. The term “parade” is applied loosely here, as it was more of a free-for-all of gussied-up pups, their owners, a little catwalk — dogwalk? — and two announcers straight out of a Christopher Guest movie. “Dogs just LOVE wearing costumes!” one declared.
