Amanda Knox has been ordered to stand trial in Italy yet again for the 2007 murder of Meredith Kercher. The real question is, do we still care two years after the fervor has died down?
Teen murderer T.J. Lane, who 13 months ago opened fire at Chardon High School and killed three students while injuring three more, showed up to sentencing and issued the biggest Eff You to victims’ families you’ll ever see. “Remorse is lacking,” Judge David Fuhry said on Tuesday as he told Lane he’d be serving three sentences of life in prison without the possibility of parole. “Remorse is lacking” is apparently a euphemism for “WTF is wrong with you, son?” Lane, who suffers from hallucinations, psychosis and fantasies, revealed a shirt that read “KILLER” and flipped off victims’ families in court. Surely this New York Post cover isn’t as unapologetically appalling as the NYC subway snuff film that graced the cover eight days ago, and this won’t get the same instinctual rebuke that cover did. But what’s up at the Post? When did they become Faces of Death? Go back to sex sells — this is ugly.
